All Music & Instruments, written and performed by Dr. Coenobite for Coenobite Productions, ©2022. This is a temporary arrangement of some interesting (and favorite orchestral pieces of the Master of Orchestration: M. Ravel. With modern instruments I tried to combine four pieces: two from 'Ma Mèrte l'Oye, of course the unevitable 'Boléro' and as the closing piece 'Pavane pour une infante défunte' ('Pavane for a dead princess').

In terms of composing especially the transition to the next piece was a big challenge to create a (musically speaking) natural and logical passage. To me it sounds convincing enough, regarding the modern instruments that were involved. By the way, never thought the theme of the Boléro can be regarded as a tremendous guitar-riff. Not very easy to play, cause never intended that way, but acceptabel. With great result. Although I'm sure Maurice Rável never thought of that possibility when writing this great and popular work. So I did play the guitar, 93 years later...! Like some other modern musicians also did before (like one hell of a genius, named Frank Zappa for instance).
